Cana and Mount Airy Florist Take Home Top Honors in Tree Decorating Contest

For the second consecutive year, Ridgecrest retirement community hosted a holiday open house featuring trees decorated by local businesses. This year the blue-ribbon winner was a combined decorating effort on behaf of Cana and Mount Airy Florist, with Mary Good from the Mount Airy News acting as a special guest judge. Other participating business owners were: Airmont Florist, Something Different On Main, Creative Designs, Lisa’s Hallmark and Wyatt’s Trading Post. Executive Chef Janet Chilton prepared a table of delicious canapés including shrimp and crab tarts, petit fours, assorted cheese skewers, cucumber/cream cheese bites, egg nog and hot cider while guests sang Christmas favorites accompanied by Jane Tesh on the keyboard
